HISTORY
Anthony Greco had a dramatic experience with Jesus in September of 1982. In that encounter Jesus revealed Himself to Anthony and called him to let his world know that Jesus was indeed alive and real. Immediately he became a bold witness for Christ sharing Him at every conceivable opportunity.
In 1985 Anthony Greco visited the nation of India. This trip would profoundly alter the trajectory of his life. He was broken to see the masses living without the knowledge of Christ.
Thousands upon thousand living in fear, superstition, bound by poverty, sickness, and disease. Although overwhelmed by the seemingly impossibility of the task, a deep resolve to preach Christ was being formed within his spirit. In New Delhi, he became aware of a Jesus Festival being conducted by Canadian evangelist Peter Youngren. It was there that Anthony witnessed for the first-time dramatic miracles before his eyes.
Scores of blind received their sight, cripples walked and the deaf could hear. Each night Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims would testify of the miracle working power of Jesus Christ. Tens of thousands would rush the platform at the invitation to receive Christ. Truly, the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to whoever believes, and the Lord still goes with His people confirming His word!
This was the key! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! The same Holy Spirit that was upon Jesus to work miracles was the same Holy Spirit that the apostles received on the Day of Pentecost. No wonder they could do His works. He is the same Holy Spirit that is available to every believer in Christ today. We too can do His works, and greater because of Him.
Peter Youngren became a friend and mentor to Anthony, a friendship that continues to this day. They travelled together for many years, often targeting remote, wild, and unreached areas with the Message. Whether it was in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, or in tribal Muslim Pakistan, or a world-renowned capital city, Christ was proclaimed in the power of the Spirit through mighty signs and wonders. In their passion to reach regions held in gross darkness they often faced violent opposition. It was not uncommon to face angry armed mobs, stoning and even bomb attacks.
Anthony, together with his wife Madeleine, have travelled to over 40 nations strengthening local churches through seminars, and breaking new ground through mass evangelism.
